Jack & Bore

Jack and Bore is a trenchless excavation method used to install steel casing and carrier pipes beneath roads, railways, and other critical infrastructure without open‑cut excavation. This technique provides a safe and reliable solution for crossing areas where surface disruption is not permitted.

The process involves excavating a launch pit, setting a boring machine on a guided track, and using hydraulic jacks to push steel casing pipe forward while simultaneously boring out the soil. As the casing advances, spoil is removed from inside the pipe, creating a clean, stable tunnel. Once the casing reaches the exit point, the carrier pipe—such as water, sewer, gas, or electrical conduit—is installed inside the casing.
